Hyundai’s New Nexo FCEV Breaks Barriers With 700 Km+ Range – Full Details Inside
The second-generation Hyundai Nexo comes with a refreshed design, an impressive driving range of more than 700 km, and several performance enhancements.
Hyundai has made a significant advancement in hydrogen-powered vehicles with the launch of the all-new Nexo at the Seoul Mobility Show 2025. This second-generation FCEV offers an impressive driving range of over 700 km on just a five-minute charge. Its striking exterior, designed using the ‘Art of Steel’ philosophy, showcases a modern and sleek look.
Building on the Initium concept introduced in late 2024, the new Nexo features a stronger structure, distinctive horizontal grooves, and the signature ‘HTWO’ lamps, marking a bold shift from the previous model. With six color options, including the Goyo Copper Pearl, the interior combines elements of Korean culture and provides a spacious, comfortable layout.
The new Hyundai Nexo comes with a curved digital display, comfortable relaxation seats, and an island-style center console. The digital side mirrors give a broader view, and the optional panoramic roof adds to the airy feel inside. It also offers plenty of storage space, with the rear cargo area roomy enough to fit up to four golf bags.
Under the hood, Hyundai has upgraded the Nexo's powertrain, boosting the electric motor to deliver a total power output of 190 kW (255 hp), a 55 kW increase. The battery capacity has also been doubled, and acceleration has improved, with the FCEV now able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds. The updated hydrogen fuel cell stack produces 110 kW (147 hp) of power.
Hyundai claims that these improvements enhance efficiency and durability, ensuring reliable performance even in extreme temperatures. The new Nexo also features a range of safety and driver-assistance technologies, including intelligent speed limit assist and remote smart parking. Plus, Hyundai has introduced a built-in camera to capture high-quality driving footage.
The Nexo’s infotainment system features a sleek curved dual-display, supports over-the-air updates, and includes AI-powered voice recognition, along with a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system. The FCEV Route Planner helps you find charging stations along your route, and the digital key function lets you unlock the car with your smartphone. With sustainable touches like bio-based interior materials and smart regenerative braking, the new Nexo is set to make a strong impact.
