"The compact car segment is heating up, with several automakers gearing up to expand their lineup. Here’s a closer look at 6 upcoming ICE-powered models that are set to make their debut soon."
"The compact car space is about to get a major refresh, with big names like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Renault, and Nissan readying a wave of new models. Here's a quick look at some of the upcoming ICE-powered cars you can expect to see soon."
1. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Smart Hybrid:
Maruti Suzuki seems to be preparing a hybrid version of the Fronx, which could hit the roads by late 2025 or early 2026. A test mule was recently spotted, suggesting that development is well underway. The upcoming hybrid is expected to feature the 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine paired with a smart hybrid system — a setup similar to the one seen in the recently launched Dzire hybrid in the Philippines.
2&3. Nissan B-MPV & Magnite CNG:
Nissan is gearing up to launch a new B-segment MPV later this year, built on the same platform as the Renault Triber. While it will remain positioned as a value-for-money offering, the MPV is expected to feature notable upgrades and styling inspired by Nissan’s global design language. The carmaker is also heavily localising production, which will take place at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant near Chennai. In addition, a CNG-powered variant of the Magnite is likely to make its debut in the coming months.
4. Renault Kiger Facelift:
The Renault Kiger facelift is nearing its debut, with heavily camouflaged test mules spotted frequently during road tests. While exterior updates are expected to be subtle, the interior could receive a more significant tech upgrade. New features are likely to be introduced, but the powertrain options are expected to remain unchanged.
5. All-New Hyundai Venue:
Hyundai is likely to unveil the next-generation Venue before the end of the year, sporting refreshed styling and a revamped cabin layout. The compact SUV is expected to gain Level 2 ADAS, marking a step up in safety features. While the engine options are expected to carry over, several feature enhancements are anticipated to keep it competitive in its segment.
